Growing Minds: How The Developing Brain Shapes Thinking, Feeling, and Choice

WATCH

In our first CNI Accessible Neuroscience lecture of the year, we welcomed Dr. Cat Camacho, Assistant Professor of the University of Washington, St. Louis. Dr. Camacho is working on discovering how the impact of childhood environments on the brain can lead to depression and anxiety in young people. In this conversation with our community of parents, educators, and 4-H volunteers, Dr. Camacho broke down how the developing brain and social experiences are tightly linked in childhood, and how we can use movies to study social development in the brain over time. This lecture is great for folks who want to learn the foundational concepts of neurodevelopment and learn how to creatively support youth at different stages of their lives.
